Weekly "Duality" devlog (week 01)


Hey, welcome to my first devlog on "Duality". It is my first bigger project, so if you have some suggestions or tips, feel free to leave them in the comments section below! To begin with I would like to establish things, that have been already done, before me starting to document my progress.

  • Story base line has been written. This will prevent me to drifting away from the game idea.
  • Most assets for the first room are already drawn.
  • There is simple combat system implemented, but I am  thinking about changing soon, so it feels more smooth. Keep tuned, because next week I will reveal my progress on this topic.
  • There are checkpoints, but these don't feel polished, so I will have to come to them later. 
  • Dialogue system is already kinda done. Might change some visual later, but for now it works great.
  • Main character movement feels great, at least for me. Jumps feel just right, movement to the right and to the left feels quite right too. Only thing I am thinking to change is dashing, but it is not necessary.

Of course there are a lot more things, but they are not that important to be documented.

It is the first devlog, so it is a bit shorter and way less detailed, than I would like it to be. Next one will be way more specific, stay tuned for tit.
